With vintage design experiencing an upswing in interest, I am thrilled to be offering this 3-day masterclass in vintage lampshades. A good vintage lampshade is ageless. They bring back childhood memories visiting grandma, or curling up in an armchair with a book. Lampshades first became popular in Victorian times, and the opulent world of Victorian design is still unparalleled in maximalist fashions. Over the decades, lampshades have evolved. We’ve seen elegant art deco shades and minimalist modern styles sitting side by side with the traditional and gathered lampshades of the last century. One of the great joys of 21st-century interior design is the opportunity to draw on our rich design history for inspiration and imitation. Everybody does vintage differently, and vintage can mean all sorts of different styles. The fun part is deciding how you’re going to add your own stamp and make it special! But no matter what style decisions you make, the techniques make it vintage. Join us on this course to learn some traditional skills that you can adopt into fabulous modern styles for both pendant lamps and table lamps.
Ideal for those looking for an insight into the world of vintage lampshade making, this course will teach you to make two traditional Victorian inspired lampshades. Whether you want to make these lampshades for your own home, or plan to launch your own lampshade making business, this course will give you what you need to get started.

- Business-related topics such as pricing, branding, marketing and selling your lampshades
By the end of the workshop, you’ll take two completed shades home to add the perfect vintage touch to your interiors.
During this in-depth workshop, we’ll also talk about how to turn your new skills into a business. I’ve worked with students who have gone on to great success running craft businesses, and I love to celebrate and support makers taking their first steps into this world. Having the right knowledge and assistance at the start of your journey can make all the difference to your business. Across the 3 days, I’ll give you an insight into the fundamentals of running a lampshade making business. We’ll discuss anything from creating a lampshade collection, how to price, selling wholesale, selling to retailers, finding your ideal clients to marketing and the importance of branding.
You have total flexibility over your masterclass sessions, and can take three consecutive days, or book multiple sessions spread out to fit around your schedule. For all 1-2-1 tuition workshops, we will work with you to create the best session plan possible. This course is inclusive of all tools, materials, a comprehensive step-by-step manual, lunch and refreshments.
All one-to-one course dates are individually booked and do not have fixed dates to allow maximum flexibility. You can choose the days that suit you the most. You have total flexibility over your masterclass sessions, and can take three consecutive days, or book multiple sessions spread out to fit around your schedule. We try to be as flexible as possible so that you can fit the workshops in with your home life and work commitments.

Booking a Course: In order to secure and confirm bookings of Courses and workshops run by Moji Designs, full payment in advance is required. Payments for all courses can be made by Bacs or Paypal. Please note all payment must be received in pounds and all international transaction fees are the responsibility of the student. Bookings are made on a first come first serve basis and places are limited.
Refund & Cancellation Policy for UK & Overseas Students: In the event that Moji Designs has to cancel a course for insufficient attendance or circumstances beyond their reasonable control including illness such as Covid, as much notice as possible of cancellation will be given and an offer of transfer onto an alternative date will be given. If a cancellation is given by us within 10 days of the course start date, we offer our students a full refund. Unfortunately we are not able to accept any liability for travel or accommodation costs. In the event of students wishing to cancel a booked course, a full refund will be offered if cancellation is requested in writing up to 28 days prior to the course start date. If a cancellation is requested within 28 days of the course start date we cannot offer a refund but will transfer to an alternative date where possible, up to 10 days prior to the course start. If a cancellation is requested within 10 days of the course start date we cannot offer a date transfer except in special circumstances such as bereavement, a student falling ill with Covid or a flight cancellation. If this occurs, please contact us as soon as possible with proof such as an airline notification, doctor’s note, hospitalisation record or positive PCR test. In these exceptional circumstances, we will seek to arrange alternative dates where possible.
