OUR STORY
Founded by Moji Salehi, Moji Designs Studio draws inspiration from her Persian childhood, formative years in Europe from the age of 17, and deep affection for the English countryside. These diverse influences converge to create designs that infuse homes with bold colours, rich textures, and meaningful stories.
Moji’s creative journey began with a profound love for art, rooted in childhood memories of fragrant gardens and the vibrant landscapes of her Persian heritage. Her move to Europe and growing appreciation for the English countryside further refined her approach, blending timeless tradition with contemporary flair.
This evolution of her vision is reflected in her artistic practice, which spans a wide range of disciplines, from painting and printmaking to silversmithing and pottery. Each creation is driven by a passion for exploring materials and textures, all while maintaining a sense of playfulness in every design.
Since 2008, Moji Designs has curated a distinctive collection of fabrics, papers, homewares, accessories, and gifts. Each piece reflects Moji’s dedication to craftsmanship, cultural heritage, storytelling, and a playful spirit. Her work is held in private collections and has been showcased at numerous craft fairs and exhibitions.
Moji is an active member of respected craft organisations, including Heritage Crafts, the Crafts Council, and Handmade in Britain—communities that celebrate and support traditional hand-crafted practices. At the heart of Moji Designs is a vision to seamlessly blend the richness of tradition with the elegance of modern living, crafting timeless pieces that resonate with and appeal to all generations.
Based in her Coach House Studio in Brighton, Moji also shares her expertise through private courses in textile printing and lampshade making, inspiring others to appreciate the beauty of handmade craftsmanship. She also teaches at the world-renowned West Dean College in Sussex and in London—a leading centre of excellence for arts and conservation—where she leads courses in traditional lampshade techniques.
