One conversation with my student that truly stayed with me…

One conversation with my studnet that truly stayed with me

During a recent five-day lampshade workshop, my student and I talked about so many things… but one chat in particular stuck.

We realised that as you grow older, certain filters begin to fade. The inner critic quiets, and your creative voice starts to shine. The barriers that hold us back — fear of judgment, fear of failure, the pressure to be perfect — slowly lose their grip, letting your authentic self emerge.

It’s like you can finally just make — without overthinking, without worrying if it’s perfect. That’s when the magic happens.

When we’re young, our choices are shaped by self-doubt, by the confidence we haven’t yet found. Life fills up with responsibilities — work, family, everything in between.

But sometimes, if you’re lucky, as you get older you start to listen to yourself. You stop worrying about what others think. You begin to embrace what truly makes you happy.

That’s when your hidden, forgotten voice resurfaces. It drives you forward — to create, to express, to live more fully. Some even change careers, take bold steps, or find entirely new ways of living that finally align with who they really are.

It’s a reminder that creativity and freedom aren’t just for the young. They’re waiting for us at every stage of life. There’s no age limit to discovering who you are — or what lights you up.

Wishing you a wonderful day — and a moment to embrace your creativity and follow what truly makes you happy. ✨

Until next time,
