This is how many languages I speak…and why I’m telling you this..
I speak three languages fluently… and I’m currently learning my fourth.
And the reason I share that is because I’ve been fortunate enough to live a life rich in language and cultural experience, which has shaped the way I’ve approached creativity for as long as I can remember.
When you live between languages, creativity becomes something alive. It becomes translation — between people, cultures, emotions, and lived experience.
That mindset influences everything I do as a designer and educator.
I don’t just design for aesthetics. I translate ideas so they connect with intention.
For me, that perspective is deeply shaped by my Persian heritage and childhood memories — the colours, patterns, and emotional richness I grew up with — which naturally show up in my work, making it both personal and culturally alive.
And that’s where originality really begins.
When your work is clear, consistent, and rooted in your own perspective… people notice.
Sometimes it inspires others. Sometimes it gets echoed in ways that feel too close to your original work. And the line between inspiration and imitation can get blurry.
But what can’t be echoed is your lived experience. Your heritage. Your voice. Your way of seeing the world. That’s what makes your work yours. And that’s why I’m intentional about how I create.
Because great design isn’t just about looking good — it’s about expressing something only you can express. And when people experience that kind of authenticity, they trust more. They engage more. They remember more.
That’s the real impact of intentional design.
