Upholstery is a craft which is learnt over long time with plenty of practice, but can be very rewarding and fun once you have learnt it. If you have ever wondered how to practice or develop your upholstery skills, then our two day workshop is the ideal one for you, where we will provide you with relevant, practical applications and basic skills enabling you to create easy individual items of upholstery with confidence.
On this two day workshop students will discuss and learn following subjects:
- Hand tools, equipments and useful books
- Striping and preparing a chair
- Attaching webbing, hessian, foam, calico, wadding, and polyester to build up your chair using modern technique.
- Attaching webbing, hessian, twines, horse hair/fibre, calico, wadding and polyester to build up your chair using traditional technique.
- Supplier's list and trade account
- How to set up an upholstery business
- How to set up a workshop and market your products
- Plenty of professional tips and hints
